HARTFORD BUSINESS JOURNAL PRESENTS CT PAID LEAVE AUTHORITY CONTROLLER DAVID MARCONE WITH 2023 C-SUITE AWARD
Recognition of contribution to agency growth, ethics, reporting and commitment to community
Hartford CT — The Hartford Business Journal today announced the winners of its 2023 C-Suite and Lifetime Achievement Awards and bestowed the Chief Financial Officer of a Small Organization Award to the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority’s (CT Paid Leave) Controller David Marcone. These awards honor the top-performing C-suite level executives in the Greater Hartford area who work in the for-profit, non-profit, and governmental sectors. Executives in five categories who have contributed to their company’s or organization’s overall growth and have shown commitment to good ethics, reporting, and involvement in the community are recognized.
“We are all very proud of Dave and deeply appreciate his many contributions to this new agency,” said CT Paid Leave CEO Erin Choquette. “He helped launch our agency, is ever watchful to our financial health, and helped position us as a program that other states can look to for guidance.”
Mr. Marcone is responsible for overseeing CT Paid Leave’s financial functions and maintaining financial controls. He manages the Authority’s $20 million operating budget and has developed key relationships with actuaries, auditors, accountants, and vendors. Collaborating with the leadership team, the Authority’s Board of Directors, and other state partners, he works to safeguard the solvency of the Paid Leave Fund, thus ensuring Connecticut workers can access income-replacement benefits in their time of need if they are dealing with certain health or family circumstances.
“I’m really honored to be recognized by the Hartford Business Journal in this way,” said Mr. Marcone. “I believe in the mission of this agency and feel a deep responsibility to the workers we serve. Ensuring that CT Paid Leave has the resources necessary for today and the future is my passion — and seeing how those benefits impact people’s lives is my reward.”
To apply for paid leave online, workers will first need to create an account with CT Paid Leave by visiting www.ctpaidleave.org. The applicant can then submit their claim online.
