Competitive Bid Process Results in Contracts with 7 Community Organizations to Assist in Outreach Efforts

Hartford CT — The Connecticut Paid Leave Authority today announced the selection of seven community organizations for the Community Education Coordinators Initiative (CECI). The Initiative seeks to:

  • increase Connecticut workers’ awareness and understanding of CT Paid Leave through methods that are community centered and language specific,
  • build capacity among community organizations and service providers to share information about CT Paid Leave and provide one on one application assistance to communities that face barriers to accessing CT Paid Leave benefits,
  • develop and distribute effective CT Paid Leave outreach materials in English, Spanish and additional languages to address access needs and expand workers’ exposure to CT Paid Leave, and
  • increase collaboration and establish a feedback loop between CT Paid Leave and community organizations and service providers to strengthen the Authority’s outreach strategies.

“CT Paid Leave used the competitive bidding process to identify partners that can reach communities that may need extra support understanding and accessing CT Paid Leave,” said Erin Choquette, CEO of the CT Paid Leave Authority. “While our outreach team has done amazing work reaching out to various communities across Connecticut, we know that workers are more likely to receive and retain information when shared by trusted community partners. Now that partners have been selected and contracts have been executed, we have commenced a robust training program for the selected contractors.”
